FAQ

  • Sound healing is a therapeutic practice that uses vibrations from instruments like singing bowls, gongs, tuning forks, and chimes to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The sound frequencies help to restore harmony and balance within the body.

  • A sound bath is an immersive sound healing experience where participants are "bathed" in sound waves produced by various instruments. The sounds and vibrations help to relax the mind, release tension, and promote deep meditation and healing.

  • During a sound bath, you’ll typically lie down in a comfortable position while the practitioner plays a variety of instruments. The session is designed to help you enter a meditative state, where you can experience relaxation, emotional release, and inner peace.

  • No prior experience is necessary to enjoy a sound bath. It’s suitable for beginners and experienced meditators alike. All you need to do is relax, listen, and allow the sounds to guide you.

  • To have a comfortable and relaxed experience during your sound bath, we ask that you bring the following:

    • a yoga mat

    • a pillow for your head

    • a blanket (as you may get cold)

    • an eye mask (may be helpful for deeper relaxation, but not required)

You are also welcome to bring any of your favourite crystals or wear crystal jewellery to support you during the sound bath.

Please take a look at the Helpful Tips & Reminders listed below prior to your session.

  • Sound healing can help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, improve sleep, enhance focus and clarity, and promote overall well-being. It also supports deep relaxation, emotional release, and spiritual connection.

  • Sound healing is great for all ages.

However, I kindly ask to be made aware of the following before you decide to book:

  • Sound bath sessions usually last between 45 minutes to an hour, but the duration can vary depending on the practitioner and the format of the session.

  • The frequency of sound healing sessions can vary based on personal preference and goals. Some people benefit from weekly sessions, while others may attend monthly or as needed for relaxation and healing.

Sound frequency is the base and foundation of all creation, connection, being and living.

How does sound healing work?

You know how taking slow, deep breaths can instantly relax and centre you? Sound healing works in a similar way, using vibrations and frequencies to shift your brainwaves from chaotic to calm.

Instead of amping up your fight-or-flight response, sound healing taps the brakes on your nervous system.

Your breathing and heart rate start to slow down as your brain waves slip into a trance-like state. It's like hitting a reset button, signaling to your mind and body that you're safe and can fully unwind.

The steady rhythms and tones act like a meditation anchor for your brain, providing a stable pattern for it to sync up with.

Instead of bouncing around on high alert, your brain chills out in a relaxed, alpha state. All that stressful mental clutter and chatter quiet down.

It's like hitting the refresh button for both your mind and body. You emerge feeling more centred, grounded and clear-headed. Your nervous system is smoothed out and restored.

The best part is you don't need to understand the science behind it for sound healing to work its magic. All you have to do is open your senses and receive the soothing frequencies.

Pretty soon, you'll feel those good vibes resonating through every cell.

Helpful Tips & Reminders

A few helpful tips to keep in mind before your session:

  • Attend the session with an open mind and heart. Allow yourself to enjoy it.

  • Give yourself enough time to get to your appointment so that you can settle-in and relax. So that we can start on time, I kindly ask that you arrive 5-10 minutes before your session.

  • For group sound baths, I ask that you bring your own yoga mat, pillow and blanket to the session.

  • For online or virtual sound healing sessions, I recommend that you use headphones to allow yourself to hear the sounds clearly without being distracted by external stimuli. This will help to tune out any distractions.

  • Set an intention for your session - something personal, present and conducive to your health and healing.

  • Do not worry if you fall asleep during the session. It shows that your physical body needs rest!

  • If you have a lot of thoughts, emotions and feelings come up during the session, that is fine. The sound bath meets you where you are at, so allow yourself to honour that and acknowledge how you are feeling.

  • Avoid any coffee or alcohol before the session.

  • Nourish your body. Drink plenty of water and herbal teas after the session. I encourage you to bring a bottle of water.

  • The sessions are not normally suitable for people with seizures, epilepsy, heart conditions or early stages of pregnancy, but frequently these conditions can be addressed on an individual basis. If you have any health conditions, please speak to me before booking.

  • If you are a new client, please complete and submit the Client Intake + Consent Form prior to your first session with me.

  • If you have any questions, please reach out to me!
